Description
This classic 1953 39’ Concordia Yawl (#15) “LOTUS” was designed by C. Raymond Hunt and meticulously built by Abeking & Rasmussen in Germany. Her design is balanced to sail in all types of conditions and sets the standard for comfortable cruising on a stellar vessel.
As you admire her exterior and design, she just appears to be a good all-around vessel, not too deep a draft with a rather full bow and narrow stern. She’s very symmetrical and carries the legacy of being seaworthy, comfortable and versatile.
Concordia yawls have proven themselves in winning some of the most challenging offshore races.
She’s in need of some TLC to bring her back to her original luster, since the current owner has not been able to dedicate the time over the last few years to provide the needed care due to family concerns. So she is in need of some painting, brightwork, minor minor repairs and cleaning. The most recent survey was completed 12/21/2011 and was assessed as in “very good” condition. See the extensive list of enhancements, upgrades and improvements under Construction Details.
