A Lyle Hess designed gaff topsail cutter, built by Bob Darr in the Bay area of California and launched in 1983. Built of Port Orford cedar on frames of black locust and CA white oak, and fastened with monel boat nails. Decked in Bouglas-fir, and AYC. Tanbark sails, gaff topsail cutter. I lovely little boat that I’ve had great pleasure in owning, living on, and sailing throughout the Salish Sea, as far north as Desolation Sound, and as far South as Seattle. Ready for spring painting, but otherwise able and ready to cruise tomorrow (which is precisely what I’ll be doing). I’m selling as I’ll be going to graduate school, and moving across the country, and will be several hours from the coast. I’m open to reasonable offers (and please, do be reasonable, if you’re too cheap I’ll be confident you lack the means to care for this boat, and will happily refuse your offer). I’m very committed to finding a next steward who has the skills and dedication to continue to care for and improve this lovely little vessel. Custom nesting dingy, 300 feet of high test anchor chain (plus 200 feet of nylon rode) Rocna anchor, LED masthead/running lights, copper sink, fresh and salt water (the only thru hull fitting below the water line) hand pumps, depth sounder.
