Friendship Sloop Society

The Friendship Sloop Society is a group of sloop owners and family members, trades people, and other interested parties who share a love of these historic and seaworthy vessels. There are presently 282 registered sloops. Members hail from as far away as Australia, Chile, and the Mediteranean, as well as Washington State and California. Through the years the activities have grown in number. Several rendezvous/regattas are held along the New England coast each year in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Maine. There is an annual meeting in the Portland, Maine area a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving. This is always a great time and open to any members who wish to attend—we take care of business pertaining to the Society, trade stories, renew acquaintances, and start new friendships.
