Herreshoff 12 1/2 #1290

Kinship is a Marconi-rigged Herreshoff 12 1/2, hull number 1290. She was built for Amos Hollingsworth of Islesboro, ME, by Herreshoff Manufacturing Company in 1936. In 1997, a friend found her in a Portland warehouse where she had been stored for several years. We brought her to Castine ME, where she has been restored and sailed on the Bagaduce & Penobscot Bay.

She is in excellent condition, has been boatyard maintained and stored in my garage. New main and jib were made by Pope Sails & Rigging and have been used two years. Brooklin Boat Yard made new standing rigging in 2019. Her floors and some ribs were replaced in 2020. She was last at her mooring in 2019, but is ready to sail.
