Owner’s Description
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego has been serving Central New York since 1982 as the only maritime-themed museum on the American shores of Lake Ontario. As a Provisionally Chartered 501c3 history museum, we serve the education, historic preservation, and recreational heritage-based tourism sectors. We are the home of the National Historic Landmark WWII Tugboat LT-5, National Register of Historic Places Derrick Boat 8, and the last commercial fishing vessel on Lake Ontario, Eleanor D. We are stewards of the Oswego West Pierhead Lighthouse – providing public access tours during the fair weather season. Too, we’re currently in the process of finalized S/V Ontario – a traditional 1850s style gaff topsail schooner ported in Oswego Harbor.
