Description
I built this boat during a four month stint at the Apprenticeship School in Rockland, Maine in the winter of 2015. My first build was a Susan Skiff, but I wanted a prettier boat. The school will make you a new one if you prefer.
It’s a lap strake white cedar design with an oak keel, red oak timbers, and mahogany transom, top strake, and twarts. Brass rivets annd screws are used throughout. Overall length is 9’-3”. Four brass oar locks and one pair of hand made leather rapped spruce oars is included.
The trailer has been arranged to accept the length of the keel on a cushioned board and it is then strapped down for transport. It is offered at $1200 with a bill of sale only. The boat can also be carried on the roof of a medium sized car.
I drive to Chattanooga to visit my son 2-3 times a year, so a delivery could be arranged at additional cost.Photos
