Description
Superlative example of this classic and versatile design, capable of rowing, sailing and motoring (comes with Minn Kota 36 lb thrust electric trolling motor which moves her nicely through the water).
Painstakingly and lovingly built by Murray Barber (Dragonwork Studio — formerly on Granville Island) in Vancouver BC. Apparently Iain Oughtred himself happened to see this boat while under construction and was so impressed he asked to take a video.
This version was built with an enclosed partial deck and coaming, with water-tight storage compartments fore and aft (below stern seat), making her even more seaworthy and dry. The center board with hand-carved double dragon-head complete with carnelian eyes is a good example of the exquisite craftsmanship throughout.
Glued 6mm Okoume plywood lapstrake construction. Petit’s “monopoxy” paint finish over primer on hull. All brightwork and spars finished with seven coats of Epiphanes varnish.
Lightly used and always stored indoors. Mint condition.
Remarkably seaworthy and stable for her size. Will fit 3 to 4 adults depending on conditions and method of propulsion.
Fun to sail and easy to row. The perfect all-around boat for a young family or a unique yacht tender.
