Description
1983 classic, beautiful Peapod, equipped for sailing, rowing & motoring! This versatile and rare traditional lobsterman’s Peapod was designed by Royal Lowell, the dean of Maine fishing boat design. This lovely 16.5′ dory was built of custom hand-laid fiberglass by J. C. Boats, Manchester, NH and has a ballasted full keel. In recent years the gelcoat has been redone inside and out – her black exterior gleams – and new heavy-duty shrouds were cut this year.
For motoring, the boat has 2-horsepower four-stroke Honda sits in the motor well and can be raised for sailing. Boat has two rowing stations, plus custom oarlocks for stand-up rowing have been added, with Shaw & Tenney oars. There are two sails for the sprit rig with aluminum mast and sprit. The rudder and a long and short tiller were built by by Ken Basset. Custom trailer and boat cover is included.
