Description
The Cape Dory Typhoon is a classic sailboat design that was created by Carl Alberg, a renowned yacht designer who was known for his beautiful and seaworthy sailboat designs. Alberg was a master at creating boats that were not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly functional and practical. Known as “Americas littlest Yacht”
The Alberg design of the Cape Dory Typhoon is known for its full keel 2’7” draft and narrow beam at 6”3”, which provide excellent stability and tracking. This is helped by a 900 lb. molded-in ballast that gives the Typhoon the feel of a larger boat not found in many larger designs. This design feature also makes the boat easy to handle and maneuver in tight spaces, such as crowded marinas or narrow waterways.
The Typhoon’s hull is constructed of hand-laid fiberglass, which provides excellent strength and durability.
This 1974 Typhoon has been totally rebuilt over the last four year. It is equipped with Harken roller furling, New North Sails jib & single reef main sail, 3-year-old stainless steel rigging in excellent condition, Stainless winches and hardware.
