We commissioned Wayward Sun from Sam Devlin as part of our Solar Sal line of 100% solar electric boats. As a Devlin she is finely crafted and impeccably built. The original concept was a lake boat – think your friends and family out for picnics and cocktails, with an occasional overnight.
While she excels in that role, it didn’t take us long to realize she is a capable cruiser. She has several seasons cruising in the San Juan and Gulf islands, and in 2021 she became the first 100% solar vessel to travel the Inside Passage, from Bellingham, WA to Glacier Bay Alaska.
As with all our boats, Wayward Sun slides efficiently through the water and has infinite daytime range. While we need to sell her to finance our next exciting project, we will miss her dearly.
