Description
Burr Brothers built ten boats between 1955 and 1962 in Mattapoisett MA; three used the John G. Alden Co. Malabar Sr. design. One of those was constructed with a short bowsprit to allow a larger roller-furling genoa while still having a club-footed jib. This boat was first launched as Marrionette then renamed by a few long term owners to Susanne II, Breeze O’Wind, and Minstrel before Hirlas was christened in 2021.
