Description
L.F.Herreshoff Diddikai built in 1980 of the finest materials, African mahogany planking on white oak frames with Everdur bronze fasteners. Teak (laid 1.5″) deck and house. Bronze ports (10), ketch rig with double headsails on rollers.
True to L.F.Herreshoff plans with the only changes being cabin house extended where hard dinghy may have gone and double headsail rig. You can check out the design plans in his book Sensible Cruising Designs.
Originally designed as L.F.H.’s ideal world cruiser for a couple or 2. Diddikai Means “nomadic wanderer” in Romany language and is the larger more powerful sister to Rozinante, Dulcena and Deva. She is docile, predictable, fast, sea kindly and a joy to sail on all points of sail and in all conditions. Very well balanced and light on the helm, with versatile ketch rig perfect for short handed sailing.
Professionally built by a true artisan shipwright at Zahnisers in Solomons MD with no expense spared. Lots of custom bronze as well as other unique build ins that make this a truly one of a kind yacht.
Small enough to day sail and large enough with enough space to cruise the world.
