Description
I built this Nutshell from the plans and the book (bought the plans in 1993-built and finished the boat 2010-2012…) using the best Okuome ply, solid mahogany transoms, pine seats (for weight) with mahogany reinforcement (for stiffness). I did not fiberglass the hull in order for it to be as light as possible, I did Dynel the bottom for toughness. Originally painted in Interlux Perfection, she was repainted last year with Awlgrip-545 primer and then Awlcraft 2000 Whisper Grey and Matterhorn White, flattened a bit on the interior (for less sun reflection). Petit ToughStuff rubberized paint on sole for grip (good stuff), 2 rowing positions with brass ferrules in the seat to drop the bronze oarlocks into, nice, leathered 7′ ash oars revarnished last year as well. The boat is pretty lightly used and in excellent/close to perfect shape with new paint. I am building a new boat (PT11) and have too many boats so she should go to a new and good home. I think everyone knows how sweet the Nutshell Prams are…
