Description
A few years ago I found this J. Henry Rushton dinghy, the 10′ 6″ lapstrake model which appears in his 1903 catalog, and one he manufactured for decades from the last 1800’s through 1910. According to several curators, the name badge on my boat dates this one to the 1880s. After taking the lines and lofting it, I have one under construction now, available for sale. I am building it glued-lapstrake plywood but am also prepared to build it traditionally with cedar planking fastened with copper clench nails like the original. The beautiful lines of this whitehall-like hull should be a dream to row.
