Description
Stormbird is a timber cutter built in the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand by renowned New Zealand designer and builder Peter (Pop) Jorgensen for his own use.
Launched in 1981 she has had continual upgrades.
She is a significant vessel in New Zealand’s maritime history, of a timeless design and has been built with craftsmanship for her sailing capabilities and comfort. A delight to sail and well balanced in all weather, coastal, offshore, shorthanded or crewed.
With a self tacking staysail Stormbird is well setup for shorthanded sailing. Carvel planked in edge glued kauri with a long fin keel and skeg.
The current owner for 25 years is now retiring from boating and is offering an extended inventory.
