AmiRia Associacao dos Amigos da Ria e do barco Moliceiro

AmiRia association that preserves the Traditional boats of Ria de Aveiro. The Moliceiro, the Marcantel, the Bateira, the Xavega, are the main ones. The association as a shipyard school, is non profit organization. Since 1999 Amiria launched the challenge to local entities to classify the Moliceiro as UNESCO patrimony. The members are engaged in several initiatives to preserved the maritime patrimony of the region, as well as contributing for environment awareness and social economical development of the fisherman local populations.
