Owner’s Description
Broad Reach is a Canadian charity. We engage disadvantage youth in sailing and sail training because they gain great benefits from those experiences! Knowledge, skills and belonging. Confidence, courage and curiosity. Compassion and competition. Since 1998 over 10,000 sailed with us and some of them don’t want to see another boat in their lives! Those who do, well — you know — they’re the winners! Because we are a charity we always ask for support – please don’t hold that against us — we invest that support with a great ROI. We sail a fleet of four vessels: a little Coronado 1968, a larger Tiger 10M swift and nimble, a kickass J105, and the stately belle of Lake Ontario, s/y Jilà si, a 1966 Philip Rhodes Offshore 40. Then there are the tall ships which youth graduate to but they and the operating costs belong to our collaborators.
