Our central mission is to bring joy, pleasure, and beauty to others and to provide them with an unforgettable experience. This goal leads us to Classic Boats Venice concept to offer all guests the perfect travel experience in Venice.

In doing so, the concept of beauty is an essential means of transmission. Be it the beauty of Venice, the beauty of our boats or simply the loveliness of a secluded anchorage while enjoying a wonderful meal on board and a glass of local wine.

Our history

Classic Boats Venice was founded in 2018 by Carl Georg Zwerenz: “What was my motivation? After a life full of work and experiences in completely different fields, my passion for beautiful boats led me to Venice, where I myself lacked the opportunity to rent a beautiful boat for an individual lagoon excursion. I can say from my experience that it is traveling and the particularly beautiful vacations and experiences from which I have been able to take and draw so much from in my life. For me, quality is more important than quantity. A vacation doesn’t have to be long, but it has to be beautiful. Beautiful, in the best sense of the word.”

In 2018 Classic Boats Venice started with traditional Venetian wooden boats equipped with electric outboard engines which were rented to self-drivers for lagoon tours. But already in the first year the requests for lagoon tours with professional drivers and for larger groups accumulated. Thus, from 2019, CBV opened up a new segment “tour boats”.

Then in 2020, Dott. Federico Giudiceandrea and Mrs. Carol Polakoff joined our company as partners and quickly became an indispensable part of our CBV family. Also in 2020, CBV then took over the already established Venice Kayak company. Since then, Classic Boats Venice has been able to offer an even broader range of “experiences” to our clients.

Sustainability

In addition, in all of our activities we strive to promote sustainability in our interaction with nature, as well as local craftsmanship in Venice. This also applies to all our chefs who offer their services as part of our tours and who source their food directly from producers of local businesses, such as farmers from St. Erasmo.
