National Lifeboat Museum

The National Rescue Museum Dorus Rijkers was founded on July 10, 1981. The museum has developed from a gathering place of a few passionate volunteers into a high-quality interactive museum that scores high from its visitors. The museum used to be located in the city center of Den Helder and moved in 2002 to a former motorcycle workshop at Willemsoord. In 2015 the museum had to donate part to the new theater de Kampanje. After a major renovation in that year, the museum could be renewed.
