Who We Are
Our New England Lyman Group was founded in 1999 by Hal Sanderson with the goal of providing a common means for its members to share the general knowledge, interest, and enjoyment of the Lyman Boat. More importantly, Hal wanted to create a group of classic boat enthusiasts that would support youth involvement in antique and classic wood boat building, restoration, and preservation.
Twenty-two years later, we continue our efforts to facilitate communication, networking and information sharing. We remain focused on Lymans, but have grown our organization to include all makes and models of lapstrake design boats and now have active members from every New England state and from across the country. We are a valuable resource for those interested in restoration, repair and maintenance of all wood boats.
