Grytviken is a little off the beaten path but a most welcome harbor of refuge. Ice Class sailing is practiced here and the museum has all the proven venture artifacts from whaling to Shackelton’s small boat he arrived on from the Antarctic. Then there’s the museum grounds replete with whale industry mechanization. The wildlife is stunning and the reason I visited here only to happen on the completely original collections.
