The Annual Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta

The 34th Annual Antigua Classic Regatta, April 19 thru 24, 2023 will be home-ported this year at Nelson’s Dockyard in English Harbour. Dozens of classic ketches, sloops, schooners and yawls, along with traditional craft from the islands will be stern-to at the Dockyard. There will 36-footers, 200-foot Tall Ships, more newly built Spirit of Tradition yachts. Over 600 crew are expected. The Regatta includes three days of round-the-buoy racing, a day of single handed competition and the “Concours D’Elegance” award for the best tricked out and polish classic yacht.The list of participants already includes Adventuress, the 83′ Fife schooner built in 1924 that Kenny Coombs skippered in the first classic regatta in 1987 and Adix, the majestic178′ three-masted gaff schooner. There are late afternoon and evening parties, awards, and this year a few days of fun with dinghy racing, steel bands, and of course West Indian rum and beer.
