This is a great boat! Ross Gannon (of Gannon and Benjamin) owns and has restored the boat that served Alcatraz before this one (he says it transported Al Capone). I'll check to see if he put that one in the show. Tom Welch
To finish the story, Mrs Luce cured me with a plain hot dog roll, and for the rest of the day I had a great sail on that wonderful boat. The Moffat clan were very grateful to hear that Mahdee was saved, restored, renamed and cruised extensively, with a blog and great photos.
Hi Banner. That Moffat cousin here (and thanks for the great pictures!) As a young teen I was invited for a Saturday afternoon sail on Mahdee by Peter Luce in Marblehead. Memorable since (a) she had a different stem piece made to look like a clipper bow (now thankfully gone); and (2) it was the only time in my life I ever got seasick (in light easterly weather, too!) .
