Description
A truly incredible piece of art that has been lovingly rebuilt from scratch by Fremantle based Old Masters (www.oldmasters.com.au) from the drawing board of world renowned naval architects Laurent Giles Design. This is an opportunity to own a magnificent craft with outstanding performance and sea keeping ability. Everything is new (2024) including the Diesel power plant.
Based in Lymington, UK, Laurent Giles & Partners was founded by Jack Laurent Giles in 1927, quickly becoming pioneers of new yacht design and boat construction techniques. The passion and innovation instilled by Jack Laurent Giles is firmly maintained by the company that today bears his name, and what began as one man’s vision for excellence has produced over 1400 successful yacht design projects and counting.
This craft was originally built in Burmese Teak and Honduras Mahogany, to survey for an Australian casino so their VIPs could be ferried around in true glamour and style. Bella Diva’s painstaking restoration, repower and re-assembly was undertaken in Fremantle by artisans within their craft and represents a quality of finish almost unattainable anywhere in the world. To borrow vernacular from the classic car genre, it’s a ‘ground up’ ‘nut and bolt’ restoration.
This vessel would suit potential buyers of Riva, J Craft, Hacker, Chris Craft and the like. However, the standard of finish and performance of this craft is arguably superior at all points. And at the price we are offering, it represents substantially better value.
Bella Diva has had thousands of man hours spent on her in the past 12 months. She was dismantled to the bare hull. Every bit of her varnish was removed by hand. 16 coats of the best available varnish finish were applied. The wet areas of the hull were stripped and repainted to a mirror finish. Then a brand-new Mercury Cummins 4.2 ltr 320hp 4 stroke turbo diesel and Bravo 3 Stern Drive with counter rotating props fitted. Brand new with full two-year warranty for her new owner.
She would easily suit as a super yacht tender for an owner who really appreciates the uniqueness and quality she has to offer. Or simply a day boat that would be at home on Lake Como, Monte Carlo and beyond.
But don’t be fooled for a second that Bella Diva is just a calm water canal cruiser. Her hull design (and build quality) has been well and truly proven prior to her current restoration, with trips to Rottnest Island off the coast from Fremantle in 2.5-to-3-metre seas. The crew always arrived dry and comfortable with the Champagne bubbles unbruised. And upon arrival, stern to, euro style anchoring was a dream. Anchor drop and reverse in. Step off the stern onto the beach and, courtesy of the remote fob in your pocket, operate the winch to pull her out into deeper water while you enjoy your lunch ashore.
There are far too many intricate details to list here, but bespoke underfloor cool boxes, handmade mahogany wet bar and sink with hot and cold fresh water, aft shower with hot and cold fresh water, custom bimini and shade awning and flushing toilet are just a sample. And for storage she comes with a full custom tandem trailer and full tailor-made cover for the entire boat.
This vessel and trailer can fit neatly into a 40 foot sea container. So, shipping anywhere in the world can be safely executed. Further, it has a recent full detailed independent survey that is available to the purchaser.
Viewing this vessel is the only real way to appreciate the standard of her construction and rebuild. But if you are unable to come and see her, rest assured, after more than 55 years of boating experience and my industry involvement, this is an absolute stand out that defies comparison.
