Ross Gannon and Nat Benjamin have established one of the world’s premier wooden boat yards, combining excellence in design, building, and restoration. Along with their partner Brad Abbott and owner Pat Ilderton, Ross will take us inside their 2017 restoration of the 1956 Sparkman & Stephens yawl MAH JONG, which soon after won Classic Boat Magazine’s award Best Restoration Over 40′ as well as the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta.

My Life with Wharram Catamarans

with Hanneke Boon

Hanneke Boon started building and sailing Polynesian catamarans at the age of 14. Along the way she’s sailed tens of thousands of ocean miles and has drawn the majority of the Wharram Boatbuilding Plans since the ’70s, known as some of the clearest boatbuilding instruction plans ever produce. Now the head of James Wharram Designs and still sailing across oceans, she’ll discuss stories from her fascinating life and the widespread culture their catamarans have inspired.

Photography from Puget Sound’s Golden Age

with Richard Gray

Dive into this remarkable new project digitzing and cataloging Kenny Ollar’s massive collection of photographs documenting the “Golden Age of Yachting” in the Pacific Northwest. Photography professor Richard Gray will take us through this labor of love, sharing beautiful photographs from hydroplane races to cruising raft ups, holding countless stories from an area inextricably linked to life on the water.

Moderated by Evelyn Ansel, Curator of Collections at the New York Yacht Club and the main force behind the archiving and digitizing of the Herreshoff collection.

    I missed Hanneke’s presentation as it happens in the middle of the night for us Aussies. Knowing I could catch it on replay, I didn’t set my alarm.
    Will it be available for replay?
