Description
Beautiful example of NGH’s Coquina. Designed for his own personal use in 1898, this gaff-rigged cat ketch is a joy to sail. The original design was sparse in detail, and Maynard Bray and Doug Hylan obtained permission to draw up full plans in 2005. This coquina, “Genevieve & Remi” was constructed by Jack Sumberg in 2023, using mahogany, butternut, black locust, sapele, cedar, spruce and okoume marine ply.
Steered by rope tackles, she is light, fast and responsive. She also rows well, which is nice if the wind dies. she draws only 8″ with the center board up, and 3′ with it down.
Comes with a custom modified trailer.Photos
