The Floating Stories Lab

The Floating Stories Lab (FSL), a non-profit association (Association Loi 1901), is a community of volunteers creating a research and storytelling vessel, a 41ft Polynesian-inspired wooden catamaran that will become a collaborative base for research, storytelling, and community engagement.

Fundamentally multidisciplinary, the Floating Stories Lab is dedicated to making ocean knowledge more accessible, building bridges between communities, researchers, creatives, and policymakers, and inspiring regenerative solutions to the ecological and social challenges of our time.

The Floating Stories Lab is built our self-build Wharram Designs Polynesian-inspired Narai Mk IV wooden catamaran, a low-tech vessel designed to facilitate accessible and immersive ocean-based experiences.

We welcome volunteers, host Boat Build Residencies, and facilitate Art x Science programs all year around.
