19' Calkins Bartender Runabout (2010) - SOPHIE

Built from kit by two naval architects in 2010; used 50 hrs; unused 2016-2018; acquired by me in 2018; used 100 hrs since then for striper fishing in S. Maine and island hopping around MDI; Tohatsu 40 hp TLDI electric start; 10 gal tank in bilge; extensively lined with floatation; super-safe boat design adopted by Coast Guard in Pacific NW in the 60’s as their coastal rescue boat; reason for selling: grandchildren no longer interested;

Improvements on boat made by me:
1. replaced bass boat seats with bespoke marine ply design: each seat has 2 seating positions and storage under
2. sound insulated, ventilated, and hinged motor box which doubles as casting platform
3. oarlocks installed and spruce oars made to provide emergency propulsion
4. motor well plug injected with foam insulation and fortified with carbon fiber cloth
