Description
Award-Winning Custom Catboat with Electric Inboard Motor
MISU was inspired by joyful experiences sailing catboats on Pleasant Bay in Cape Cod and adapted to function well in the conditions of Blue Hill Peninsula in Maine. Custom-built by Suzanne Leahy of Pleasant Bay Boat and Spar, and designed in collaboration with naval architect John Brady. MISU’s traditional rig is easy to handle, while the inboard electric motor provides smooth, quiet, and reliable maneuvering in and out of harbors.
MISU is ideal for weekend cruising, island exploring, and day sailing with family and friends.
Built in 2012-2014 and launched in 2014 at the WoodenBoat Show in Mystic, CT, MISU earned first place in the Sail Professionally Built category. She blends the best of Crosby and C.C. Hanley catboat traditions, with graceful lines that turn heads under sail.
MISU is invited annually by the WoodenBoat School to serve as a classroom in their Catboat course, where students learn about her design and experience her in action.
Each fall, she is stored in a hoop house and carefully maintained by her owners who are professional carpenters..
MISU is now ready to find her next steward, someone who will continue to enjoy and care for this exceptional boat.
