Owner’s Description
Everest II is a Goat Island Skiff from Australian designer Michael Storer, which I built in order to learn plywood and epoxy boatbuilding techniques that I could use to teach at risk youth. She was built with Okoume plywood and mahogany. In true Aussie fashion, she carries a lot of canvas for her tender hull. She moves with the slightest puff of wind and readily jumps onto plane. That combined with gusty winds on a mountain lake has made for thrilling sailing! The accidental jibe on my maiden voyage with my wife on board, taught me that, after a capsize, she holds enough water to fill a jacuzzi. When the wind dies, she rows easily with the 9 1/2 foot oars that I made for her. Whether flying along or sitting at the dock, she is beautiful to look at.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
