16' Frenette Ontario Whitehall (2021) - L'ODILON

The Ontario Whitehall is a modern interpretation of a centuries-old harbour rowing boat. designed by Ron Frenette and the plans of Steve Killing were bought at Bear Mountain Boats
Originally the Whitehall was lap-strake. The Whitehall was not a ship’s boat, but a vehicle used for harbour and coastwise transportation. Intended primarily to be rowed, but capable of a good showing under sail as well.
Using red cedar strips planking/epoxy building techniques, this 16′ boat weighs in at 110 pounds depending of the material used.
The Odilon was the first name of my grandfather who was a sport fisherman on the Chaudière river in the 30’ So when I built my boat I thought that I would dedicate it to him. I like to row my boat on the Lac Aux Cygnes in the morning, a quiet place where I can enjoy rowing on flat water for fun and exercise. Two rowers can make a team and it gos very fast. But at the end of the day I enjoy relaxing with my lover with a 55 lb thrust electric motor.
