22′ Catboat ALLEGRO II, built to lines taken from a 1910 design by Woodbury Hodgdon, Westport, Maine. The original ALLEGRO was built by Mr. Hodgdon for Charles E. Kitchin of Lexington, Mass. ALLEGRO found her way to Bustin Island, Maine, and in the care of Mr. Kitchin, a dedicated antique catboat owner.ALLEGRO II was built by Geno Scalzo at Owl’s Head, Maine in the 1980’s. She was named PATRICIA D and sailed out of Owl’s Head. After some years of hard times, she was restored, renamed ALLEGRO II and moored at Apple Tree Cove, Maine.
In the past year, ALLEGRO II has seen more restoration and was briefly relaunched late Fall 2025. She will be ready for a full season of sailing from Sedgwick, Maine, after her Spring 2026 launching.
