Owner’s Description
Swedish classic mahogany motorboat — also known as PetterssonbåtDesigner: Carl “Cege” Gustaf Pettersson (often called CGP, 1876 – 1953), one of the most famous boat designers in Sweden
Built by: Bröderna Larssons varv in Kristinehamn, Sweden, in 1931. (Larsson Brothers boatyard)
The boat resided in Sweden from 1931 to 2012, her last Swedish years in Uppsala, on the East coast of Sweden. In April 2012 she was bought to Loviisa, Finland by a wooden boat enthusiast. After inspecting the boat in Finland, he realized the boat would not be in launching condition without a thorough rebuild. The rebuild did not happen, and the boat started to collect dust. A professional wooden boat builder heard about the boat and acquired her, replaced the rotten keel with fresh pine and changed some bottom planks, but had no time to complete the project. I heard about the boat from the boat builder some years ago and acquired her for my classic electric boat project.
The boat — her working name C.G.Elektra — is currently undergoing a full restoration and restomod conversion to electric drivetrain with a 10kW electric motor and lithium-ion batteries.
