26' Herreshoff Rumery Alerion Sloop (1995) - RAVEN

Raven is Hull # 1 of the Alerions built by Rumery’s Boat Yard in Biddeford, Maine. In one of the attached pictures she is shown sailing with a good friend, (person and boat), Hull # 11, sailing in their home waters of Noank, CT.

There are quite a few Herreshoff design Alerions living in Fishers Island Sound. We enjoy getting as many boats out sailing as we can drum up on a nice day.

Another picture shows a group of the owners at a gathering around the original ALERION in the Red Shed at Mystic Seaport Museum.
Might we be getting a little carried away by these wonderful boats? I, for one, don’t think so….
