Owner’s Description
1963 Cutter, SS Crocker design, Built in Boothbay ME by Maine Boatbuilder Hall of Famer, Roy Blaney, Aquila is 28′ LOD, 34′ LOA. Aquila was featured in “Save a Classic” column in Wooden Boat magazine (2021), with a photo in Wooden Boat #1 (1974). White oak frames with cedar planking. Recent work included refastening the hull and a new rudder. Aquila was trucked from Brooklin ME to Long Beach CA where she is sailing the Channel Islands. We previously had a Crocker schooner, Bald Eagle, for 20+ years in Gloucester. When we moved to California, we began to look for a smaller boat. Aquila is “eagle” in Latin and we took that as a signal that she was the boat for us.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
