17' Hultcraft Runabout (1957) - LAND O LAKES

HultCraft boats and I grew up together on Sunday afternoons on Lewis and Clark Lake near Wausa, Nebraska. I always wanted my own so when a salvage dealer hauled this boat into his yard I immediately bought it. After getting it into my shop I realized how badly rotted it was. Removing the transom and 6” of hull I started her second life. I added My own take on the restoration, because after all, they were sold as a kit boat if you wanted to build your own. The deck is Sapelle Mahogony and Birch inlayed. I was able to locate a Johnson Super Sea Horse 35hp motor to finish it off. The original Balco trailer was sand blasted, repaired, and repainted to carry Lune-atic to the water.
