19' S&S Lightning Class Sloop (1949) - SCAMPER

“Scamper” is a 1949 Lightning, #4252, made by Seaman Seacraft Company, Roslyn, NY. It was purchased by my grandfather and was the family boat until 1969. I found the boat in 2017 and did a restoration that was completed in 2019. The rotted frames were replaced with the original Sitka spruce, the cedar bottom planking was epoxied together, the deck recovered with canvas, and the boat was painted the original blue. Many of the fittings are original, or have been replaced with period correct bronze fitting. All the seats and combing are original.
