Great handsome little boat! I, too, am a Chapelle fan. Really enjoyed the build story and “found object” construction materials. Nice job. Kudos to you!
Chrisso. We should all get together (Kirk, Ed, you &I and any other interested individuals) this season on land or sea to discuss our love & times with our Penbos. Would be a great time. Since INTEGRITY will be in around the 4th of July, I’d love to take everyone out for a sail on the Reach. Let’s make a plan. Best, David MacLean
Good morning Chrisso. Drew Scott at Hylan & Brown in Brooklin put it all together. We experimented with different configurations and it is now working seamlessly. It is a different boat and so easy to single hand. Well balanced with jib & Mizzen and never have to leave the cockpit. No longer hanging on out on the bowsprit. Drew has really fine tuned the entire rig and it gets better each year. This will be season 3. Come up for a sail and check her out. I’m sure Drew would be happy to speak with you.
Fantastic! I’m sure you’re in touch with Ed who is putting an entire registry of all of them together. Come up to Sedgwick this summer & go for a sail. I’ve owned her for 35 years. Sailed her as a sloop for 30 years and then had Nat Benjamin redesign her & Hylan & Brown did the work. What a difference. So much more manageable now that I’m older. Roller furling, Marconi mizzen—SWEET! All the best on your Project. Send some pics. d_maclean@ Verizon.net
