Years ago we looked at purchasing her for cruising the coast from Boothbay Harbor on downeast and to Nantucket Sound. She needed more work than we could swing. I saw her in Sedgwick last season and it was a great surprise and pleasure to see her taken care of so well. Enjoy!
Lovely photos, well taken. Like THUNDERHEAD, her near sister here in Maine, the U-shaped seating aft in the cabin is unusual and inviting. Best of luck with her.
Brett- I hope to remember to get in touch with you sometime this coming summer when we're down your way cruising in our Gartside cabin launch. We've towed a Dyer for those cruises since they can be easily pulled up by one person on rocky shorelines when we explore islands. When we bought the cabin launch through Paul it had one of #172 9' prams but I left it out of the deal for his children to use. I'm seriously thinking of getting another sailboat, perhaps a Joel White Flatfish, larger than Wren and a bit more stable and perhaps...
When we sold Wren to the new owner I saw her at her mooring nearby a year or so later. I'd forgotten that she had 150 lbs of lead pigs just forward of the mast to get her down to her designed lines. The new owners took them out I suppose, because she was floating substantially bow up on her new mooring.
Hi Chrisso, I didn’t realize until today that you moor in Davis Cove. My sister’s in-laws are the Brewster family who have had their homes, dock, boathouse, etc., on the western point there. Should we pass through this coming summer we’ll look for your boat.
