Owner’s Description
The Pacific Northwest Pocket Yachters are a loose-knit group—no bylaws, commodores, membership dues or business meetings–-just folks who love getting out on the water together in small boats…also known as pocket yachts.
We have a variety of in-the-water rowing/sailing events, and host the annual Pacific Northwest SMALL BOAT FESTIVAL, a display of small boats with some emphasis on camp-cruising sailboats, easily driven powerboats and rowing/paddling watercraft. (The SMALL BOAT FESTIVAL is one of the largest exhibits of smaller boats in North America, and in 2024 takes place July 26-27 at Port Ludlow Marina, with about 75 boats displayed in the water and an additional 25-30 on dry land. (Friday, July 26, is set-up day, with boats arriving from different states, Canadian provinces and local-area launch ramps. The public show takes place on Saturday, July 27, with presentations and an evening dinner in the adjoining Pavilion.)
Small-boat registration began February 1 and will continue until May 1…or when all slots are filled. To view the SMALL BOAT FESTIVAL application form, see the group’s website at www.pocketyachters.com or email [email protected]Other annual club-supported events include short overnight cruises in the Salish Sea; the Sucia Island Small Boat Rendezvous, the Montague Harbour Small Boat Rendezvous in the British Columbia Gulf Islands, and a weekend outing at Lake Ozette, in Olympic National Park.
