Maine’sFirst Ship is a non-profit museum/educational organization focusing on the regions early history, craftsmanship,and their impact on today’s environment.
A group of volunteers started a reconstruction of the Virginia with keel laying in July 2011.
The Virginia was the first ocean going English vessel built in North America in 1607-1608. The 51′ pinnacle reconstruction was launched June 4,2022 on the Kennebec River in Bath Maine just a few miles north of where the original vessel was constructed.
Visitor center tours in the historic freight shed , deck tours,and onboard sailing are all offered to the publicPhotos
