The English Lake District’s all-weather museum, dedicated to the boats, people and the rich history of Windermere, England’s largest natural lake.
Our spectacular museum reflects industry and engineering in one of England’s most famously beautiful locations, the Lake District National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. A working destination, committed to conserving, saving and sharing its internationally important collection.
In the collection you’ll find a wide assortment of vessels, from the 1871 Steam Barge SS Raven, a National Historic vessel, to 1902 Steam Launch Osprey, 1930 Motor Vessel Penelope II, 1937 Chris Craft Motorboat Jane and 1958 speed record breaker Miss Windermere IV, to name a few.
Visit our website for more of the collection and detailed descriptions of each of the vessels.
