Alden, that's one beautiful Beetle. I just picked one up last year. It's that dark paint. It just works on that boat. Mines from the 1960s. She's been refastened, so we'll see how it goes this spring.
Heather I'm not sure what you mean. Wooden cabintop. A sliding hatch? Or closing in the cuddy. Raising the whole cabin? Which would be tough, the mast step is up there, or is it foreward of the cabin? Raising the cabin top could be done but how high can you go till you hit the boom? e-mail me some photos if you like. All my contact info is on my site. www.sattersrestoration.com
Thanks Heather, That took a lot of work. Though you don't need to put that much into it to have fun and sleep comfortably. Dave www.sattersrestoration.com
Beautiful boat John. If I could ever go back to a larger boat a Morris yacht would be on my list. I've always loved them. Quality workmanship. The clean white interior with wood trim. I think some may be cherry trim. Dave Satter, NJ
Beautiful boat James, Nothing like a Stanley build boat! I was at his shop back in the 1990s in Southwest Harbor. Nice to see a boat from Portsmouth. I was just up there. My grandmother was born in Strawbery Banke. Dave Satter
