Hull speed on a displacement boat is based on waterline length. My boat has a waterline length of about 17'8" so the hull speed (max speed with our planing ) is around 6.5 mph. To better answer your question, Maryann has a light narrow hull with ample sail area. She will probably be able to reach hull speed in a moderate wind
